Many people don’t know how to wash shoes properly. Some shoes get dirtier and turn yellower after being washed and scrubbed. Shoes that were originally soft and comfortable become stiff and more difficult to wear due to incorrect cleaning methods. In fact, washing shoes isn’t that troublesome. With the right methods, it can be quite easy! Let’s take a look together~
Cleaning Cotton Slippers
1. Prepare a small spray bottle, pour in the liquid of one capful of laundry detergent and a small amount of alcohol. Shake the spray bottle up and down to mix the liquids evenly.
2. Spray the prepared cleaner onto a dry towel, and then stuff the dry towel into the slippers.
3. Pound the surface of the slippers with your fist to make the alcohol fully absorb the sweat and odors in the slippers.
4. Finally, take out the towel and dry the inside of the slippers with a hair dryer.
Cleaning of Snow Boots
1. First, use the cool air setting of the hair dryer to blow away the dust on the surface of the shoes.
2. Mix the laundry detergent and water in a ratio of 1:10 and stir evenly.
3. Then, dip a soft-bristled brush or a sponge cloth into the laundry detergent and wipe the shoe upper along the same direction.
4. Next, use a clean wet towel to wipe off the residual detergent on the surface.
5. For the final step, use the hair dryer to dry the surface of the shoes. Remember to use the cool air setting to dry them. The hot air setting is too hot and will damage the shoe upper.
Cleaning Suede Boots
1. Prepare a sponge brush and use the softer side to brush off the dust and impurities on the surface of the shoes.
2. Mix a small amount of dishwashing liquid and white vinegar in a ratio of 1:1 and stir evenly.
3. After wetting the sponge brush, scrub the surface of the shoes along the same direction.
4. Then use a clean wet towel to wipe off the residual detergent on the surface.
5. For the final step, just use a hair dryer to dry the surface of the shoes.
Cleaning Leather Shoes
Both men and women, young and old, I believe, will own a pair of leather shoes. There are high-top ones, low-top ones, high heels, low heels… Cleaning leather shoes is simply an essential household skill throughout the year.
Restoring the shine of the shoe upper: Olive oil+hand cream
What should you do if your leather shoes lose their shine after being worn for too long? Dip a towel in a small amount of olive oil or hand cream and apply it to the surface, and then the shine of the leather shoes can be restored.
Repairing damage to the shoe upper: Egg white + black ink
If a piece of leather on your beloved leather shoes is accidentally scratched off, don’t rush to throw them away. Dip a cotton swab in a small amount of egg white. Then dip it in a little black ink and apply it to the damaged or cracked area of the shoes. I guarantee that no flaw can be spotted even with a magnifying glass!
Cleaning the dirt on the heel: Lemon juice
Apply a small amount of lemon juice to the heel of the shoes, and no matter how dirty it is, it will be as clean as new.
